For the past couple of weeks, I have been playing nursemaid to our dog, Katie. She had knee surgery, and therefore is in need of help moving around. Or at least that was the case the first couple of days. Then she seemed to forget that she had 20 sutures in her leg an would have been much happier going about her life like nothing has changed. So perhaps I haven’t been so much the nursemaid, and more the prison guard, as we try to keep her settled and quiet while she heals. And there is nothing easier than keeping a 3-year-old Golden Retriever settled and quiet. So while she was sequestered in her baby-gate prison (a.k.a. our bedroom), I purchased and built some ready-made furniture for my office (look here for the before pictures).
While this isn’t the final “after” ( I still need to remove the wallpaper, paint, find an appropriate chair, and add some additional organizing items), it’s definitely better than what it was!!
I am in love with this desk. I found it for a steal at World Market on clearance. It is a drafting desk that I can also level out to be used as a table, and it is perfect standing height for working on projects. Plus, It can be folded totally vertical and slid against the wall to allow for use of the floor space if I need it. Perfect!
And I am sooooooo happy to be rid of all of those bankers boxes – no words can express it.
Keep an eye out for Part III once I get the rest of the details completed!
