This whole “selling our house” deal has been quite a learning experience. I was thinking I could put together an educational seminar to share all of my newly acquired knowledge. We could even have snacks!
Here is an outline I’m putting together for the presentation:
1. Don’t assume your house will sell instantly, even if it seems all of the houses around you are sold in a day or two! (includes the compelling special feature: ”How not to hate your relatives when their house sells in one day and you are still cleaning for yet another showing after 8 weeks!”)
2. How to scatter all of your belongings across three storage units in three different cities with ease!
3. Getting your house ready for the market, with a special breakout session for “How to manage workmen in your home in 17 easy steps!
4. How to live in your 4 bedroom home like it’s a studio apartment!
5. Painting your entire home greige 101!
6. How to turn your black grout white again, with a special report on how to find a good pain reliever!
7. Selling your home vs. Renting it, and other decisions you had wished you’d made earlier!
8. Climate concerns, including “Don’t pack all of your coats, especially if you live in Minnesota”!
9. Great lots don’t always sell homes (also known as the McMansion effect)!
10. How to manage the frustration when the similar house on a smaller lot up the street sold for a higher price than yours is listed for in only a couple weeks!
And so much more!!!!!
